The Lunar Oak

Beyond the main den lies a turning river that often bursts its banks flooding most of the den area, weeks before the flood moon (The month in which the river floods) the pack must cross the strong river. If a omega or a yearling crosses without assistance from any pack mates may earn their true rank.

On the other bank of the river lies a wide flood plain its grass always moist and warm, the only light that reaches this area of the territory is that of the moon. Because of the position of the Mountain Range it blocks out the sun even in midday. In the center of the clearing grows a huge Oak Tree, the pack refers to it as 'The Great Lunar Oak' it is named this because it only grows from the moisture of the river and the light of the waxy moon.

Digging my claws into the oppsite bank I tried to push myself up, I looked at the marshland in front of me glittering from the moonlight. I sat down and waited for the others to catch up.

I swam across without drowning and emerged on the other bank. I shook my coat furiously to dry off but my fur frizzed up, giving me a hard time seeing through the mess of fur.

I looked at the towering oak before approaching it thick trunk and looking round as the moon made its leaves outlined shining, I sat down looking up my neck strained I smiled and thought.

I walked up behind Curse and sat down. "Nice place" I mumbled, smiling.

I nodded and smiled "It's better late at night when the moon shines on it" I replied looking away from the oak and back to the river.

I turned looking at the denter in training "We should head back, go find Nia or Niyol to organise a hunting party for the open plains tonight" I ordered brushing past and running through the river until it reached too high, I thrust my paws kicking then reaching the bank I pulled myself out "Coming Toxic?" I asked looking over my shoulder.

I jump out of the water without shaking my pelt and hop over to the oak. "Wow so this is the Lunar Oak. Why is it called that?" I ask turing to Curse and notice he had already gone back to where all the others were, so I decide to ask him again the next time we come here and follow him back to the Main Den.

I nodded and followed, looking around until I tripped over a small rock. I shook my head and went back to the main den.

Stands next to the Lunar tree, staring up at it, it's presence had always made me afraid, although it is where I can focus and relax.

(Even though you have been accepted into the pack on wq, in rp you haven't, I would suggest posting in the main den as a loner and then being accepted by an alpha)

I arrived at the huge tree shortly, as I had slightly sped up. I sat at the waters edge and lapped up some water for a second before continuing. I circled the tree and headed back, going in a wide arch. "Keep it going, there a fat rabbit waiting" I told myself with a laugh.
