The Wild Den

I flatten my ears and whine as I hear another grumbling noise. I jump up and put my butt in the air, wagging my tail. I bark as I look at the white wolf.

I watch the wolf fall below the ground again and this time, come out with a black thing around her leg. I look at the little wolf, wondering if he knows what it is.
I crawl forward, trying to go to the white wolf.

I crawl as fast as I can back to the den and look at the little wolf. I howl as loud as I can, but it doesn't come out so good.

I see the wolf come up behind me and I turn around to look at the black thing. I sniff it as the wolf lays down. I look up at the wolf's back, and try to jump up to get a ride.

I whine and crawl up to her face, nuzzling her cheek. I try to remember how the little wolf moved his lips when he said the big wolf's name. I do the mouth movements and this time, I remember to make sound come out. "Wire?" I say quietly, hoping I got it right.

The scent of blood filled my nose and made me alert, I glimpsed around and followed the scent to see the trail of blood and at the end was Fire laying down in the den, with one of the pups beside her. "What's wro-" I began to ask but stopped when I saw the trap formed over her upper hind leg, a low growl escaped my muzzle as I started to sniff the trap cautiously and examining it.

I try to say the white wolf's name again. "V-vire?" I turn my head and look up at another wolf coming over. Another black one, but with some white on it. I bark softly at the wolf, then continue to practice talking. "Wire?"

I nodded slowly seeing the wound then looked back to Fire, "Just relax and don't move too much or you'll make it harder on yourself." I told, my lips curling into a small smile; then turned my attention back to the trap, "Only one who can probably help is Satinka." I said with a small glance out the den wondering where she was, sitting myself down feeling quite useless and only could offer company, my silver orbs looked down to the small pup who was busy trying to say Fire's name.

I practice saying the white wolf's name again. "Vire?"

I nudge Nero softly, then look up and turn around running off to the den as I see something's going on. I stop next to curse and look down to fire " Fire! how did this happen?Where was this thing before it got to your leg?" I ask her pointing at the trap.

I crawl closer to Fire. "Ph.. Pheh... Phire?"

I bark softly to greet the other wolves who came over. I wag my tail, wanting to play with the little wolf.

I try to think of what I've heard people calling me. 'Femi?' I nod my head, lift up my paw, and point it to me. "Fay...Fey." I try to think of my name again. "Femmi... Femi."
